Tendonitis is a common condition that can end up leaving you in a significant amount of pain. It is often indistinguishable from bursitis, which is an inflammation of the fluid sacs that cushion joints.

Keep in mind that this condition can also be a work-related injury and one that is often mistaken for other conditions, so make sure that you keep your eyes open and watch out for telltale symptoms.

In some cases, depending on the severity of the condition and the location, joint support such as a sling or brace will be used. This will help to take the pressure off the affected area and allow it to get some much needed rest.

This can be difficult to do, especially if you use the area for a living, for instance if you have tendonitis in the hand but write on the computer for a living. However, if you do not follow doctor’s orders and give the area some rest, you are going to be doing yourself much more harm than good and can even end up causing permanent damage to the tendon.

If you ever think that you may have developed this condition, you will need to seek medical help. They will make a professional diagnosis and only after this will you be able to find the right treatment and take care of your condition. Keep in mind that it often takes a bit of trial and error before a treatment will be found that is successful and which is going to offer you the results that you are looking for.
